The school is 100% owned by the Gilmore family of Holden, MA and was founded in March 2010. Our President has a Master's in Finance, was formerly the General Manager of another driving school, and has been an active RMV-certified driving instructor since 2006. We have no debt except for partial loans on two of our newest cars. We neither ask for nor receive stimulus money, grants, subsidized loans, nor any other form of taxpayer-funded assistance. Boylston Auto School, headquartered on Route 140 in Boylston, MA near the Shrewsbury town line is the parent company; we do business as (dba) Gilmore's Driving school. Our
Holden location is known only as Gilmore's Driving School.
Our Philosophy:
The company was founded to provide a better service to driver education students, and we aim to be the best driving school in the area regardless of price. Our program is 100% focused on quality
driver education with unrelated subjects omitted. We train our students to anticipate and prevent hazards, rather than just reacting to them. We're fully licensed, insured, and bonded. Our first priority is your safety. We create a calm, reassuring environment and never rush students into driving beyond their capabilities too quickly. We utilize the latest in driver training techniques to transform inexperienced drivers into competent and confident drivers. Gilmore's Driving School supports the local community.
The Gilmores guarantee not to sell, rent or otherwise disclose your personal information to any third party.
Our Staff:
To be considered for employment, applicants must be motivated primarily by a love of what they do and the desire to help others, instead of just a paycheck. Each of our instructors is fully RMV-certified and background checked, with a minimum of two years experience and an average eight years experience. To reward our high performance expectations, Gilmore's Driving School instructors are well-compensated.
Customer Service:
We care about our students, and do everything possible to help you obtain your license. Our office is open six days per week (closed Sundays). We use the Schedule2Drive online scheduling system, enabling students to schedule lessons anytime. Our owner does road lessons on a daily basis, and during times of peak seasonal demand, we work very long hours to increase available drive times.
Training Vehicles:
When inexperienced new drivers are behind the wheel, vehicle safety is of utmost importance. We purchase only new or late model, IIHS top safety-rated and/or 5-star rated cars. Our average vehicle is a 2011 model with 29k miles on the odometer. We pay cash for our low mileage pre-owned vehicles and put 50% down on brand new cars. We are meticulous about vehicle condition, performing frequent maintenance and safety inspections by ASE Master technicians. All of our vehicles have winter tires mounted when the weather warrants. In addition to dual controls, all cars are equipped with the latest safety features, such as:-
Driver, front passenger and side curtain airbags
-
Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control
-
Anti-lock Brake System (ABS)
-
Tire pressure monitoring system
Some of the tiny or beat-up cars used elsewhere for driver education are an embarrassment, and how about those garish rolling billboards! Avoid them completely by taking driver's ed with us. We never compromise on the quality of our program, including vehicles. Your tuition covers all costs of using our cars for lessons; there are no hidden charges.
